I made a triple batch of Christmas stollen. I filmed part of it, but then my camera wouldn't film anymore as it didn't have anymore room for it.

I probably should have frozen the dough, then cooked it all the day before our Christmas celebration this weekend. Now I have six loaves made and cooked. They won't be so fresh on the weekend. Humph.

I made four 4lb batches of soap. Mountain laurel, lavender, sandalwood, and violet. The beater broke after the second batch, just used intermittently. I had to beat the other two batches with a beater intermittently.

I'm making three batches of Christmas Stollen now.

I got up, made Abey some of my homemade instant oatmeal and told him to make himself a sandwich for lunch ( Read more... )

Christmas Stollen

1.5c water
2T yeast
1 cup flour

Let rise.

3/4 c sugar
1.5 c margarine
3 eggs

Mix together

1.5c floured fruit and nuts

Mix it all into the sponge.

Knead till smooth

Let rise 1hr or until double

Separate into two and knead into logs on cookie sheet

Let rise till looks nice.

Bake 350F for 30-40 minutes
